Description: After I upgraded to kernel26 2.6.30-5, kdm starts when I boot up. But after I log out kdm doesn't restart, and I just get a login prompt. I had this problem with both the daemon method of starting kdm and the inittab method.

I downgraded to kernel26 2.6.29.4-1 and kdm works again.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

Use kdm, log in, and log out again.

Could you provide some more information? I think X is not coming up again after stopping it, but I need logs for that.

OK, here are some entries on daemon.log. It looks like you're right about X. But this happened both on bothy xorg-server-1.6.1.901-3 and xorg-server-1.6.0-3.

Please provide X logs then.

Here's Xorg.0.log, is that the right log file?

This is the current logfile from the X process you're running at this moment. The Xorg.0.log.old file contains the previous one.

Here's Xorg.0.log.old.

This log file is probably the right one. I reproduced the problem, and then saved the log file right away. There's a line where it says "aborting", which is not present in the other log files.

I just solved the problem by switching from the ati driver to the radeonhd driver. So maybe the ati driver has a problem with kernel 2.6.30.
