I fixed this bug by adding the makedependency. Note that this bug should be filed upstream, as this makedependency is plain wrong. The NEWS file states gtk+ dependencies have been replaced by glib-2.0 and gthread-2.0, but the configure file still checks for gtk+-2.0. The resulting package doesn't depend on gtk2 in any way. Andy, could you file this one upstream?
