Reason for closing:  Fixed

I'm able to reproduce the build errors. However, rather than try to fix this, it looks like the next version is close to release. Version 0.9.7 RC2 was released on August 24th. I gave the RC2 a try and didn't run into any problems compiling it.

My plan is to sit on my ass and wait for 0.9.7 to hit the streets rather than try and fix the old version.

0.9.7 is out and compiles.
