Details

Description: why pre-release has been added to [extra] but not to [testing]? I have very hight cpu usage with it. And yes, [testing] is enabled.

Though it's a prerelease, not everything has to go through testing. I did some basic testing myself, which doesn't show any issues with this version. It fixes quite some bugs since the 1.6.1 release, so it's worth releasing into extra directly.
I can't reproduce your problem and you don't give much information either, so you might want to do git bisection or leave out some of the patches I added to the build of 1.6.1.901.

No problems here with this version of xorg-server. Using nvidia driver 185.18.10 under KDE4 with effects enabled. X have only 9 minutes of CPU usage in 24 hours.

NO packages in extra have to go into testing if the maintainer doesnt feel like it.

Sorry, that was with video driver from git (xf86-video-ati). I've moved back to driver from [extra] and now all is ok.
