DetailsQtParted has not received an update since 2005, and is known to be extremely buggy, dangerously so for such a potentially deadly app (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=68600 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=378697 ,more if you look).
It should be moved into the community repo or the AUR in order to discourage users from trying it blindly, and not realizing that it is ancient and full of holes. And, it just seems like general good maintenance. The Ark Linux team has said they will maintain it, but the last SVN code update was in early 2008, and doesn't look big anyways. If we really want a Qt/KDE alternative to GParted in [extra], the partitionmanager AUR package should be put in when it reaches a stable 1.0. From what I can see it is already far more stable, and works with Qt4/KDE4 to boot. |
