PKGBUILDs that have missing md5sums are no longer rejected. Is this an intentional change?

I think the motivation behind the change makes sense (I assume it's so that vcs packages won't need empty src/md5 arrays anymore), but if there _are_ source elements, shouldn't the md5sums be mandatory?

makepkg doesn't make md5sums mandatory.
It will print a notice if they are missing however.
I think that's enough checking/warning.
