DetailsI was able to recreate this problem in my computer:
installed: mozilla-firefox via pacman flashplugin via pacman xorg R 6.8-3 Nvidia drivers (Nvidia Geforce 2 Go) When I edited my xorg.conf and added the Composite extension, the browser crashed when I tried to enter a flash site.. |
This task depends upon
flash.sh
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2004-September/msg00178.html
export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1
You still have your composite, you still have your flash. Works perfectly. This should be fixed ASAP, your browser not working correctly is a very serious problem
About reproducing the bug, this is what I did:
1. Upgraded to xorg 6.8-3,
2. Added the following to my xorg.conf
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
Option "RENDER" "Enable"
EndSection
3. Be sure that im using nvidia drivers in xorg.conf (i didnt tried with nv)
4. Clean install of firefox, and then of flash plugin (I also deleted the .mozilla dir in the user's home directory)
5. Go to www.nvidia.com ..(uses flash) page crashes.
Hope this helps..
ps. I didnt try using the transset utility, I just started firefox, went to the webpage and it crashed
system-wide workarounds for experiemental applications/protocols are generally not made by Arch developers.
