DetailsIt's annoying to have uname consistently report my beautiful athlon as "i686 unknown unknown". Thankfully, the kind folks down in Gentoo country distribute a patch along with coreutils that fixes this behavior. I've applied it to Arch's coreutils and it has had the desired effect; uname -a now works properly.
Patch is at http://dely.conio.net/mirror/arch/coreutils-uname.patch. Please apply. |
