Only with gstreamer0.10-base-plugins and gstreamer0.10-good I can get pidgin to play a sound, using setting 'automatic' in preferences. |

I concur with this problem. Sound wasn't working on my box until I
installed -base-plugins. I think the priority on this should be a
little higher, since sound just doesn't work without it.

Here's a simple patch that I think would fix the problem. I think
I nailed it down to it requiring -base-plugins (which pulls in
-base), and -good. If we want to make it an optdepends, then why
was gstreamer in the depends list to begin with? Either way,
here's a patch ;)
