Details
Description: My onboard soundcard needs alsa-firmware to
function, which I nabbed from the AUR, but it'd be nice if
it was supported "officially"
Additional info: * From dmesg, Maestro3 firmware: requesting ess/maestro3_assp_kernel.fw PCI INT A disabled something about Probe Failed And from there on it doesn't work. alsamixer spits out errors similar to those seen when pcspkr/snd-pcsp are loaded w/ certain systems, including mine, but black-listing those modules didn't restore sound like it did for others. Steps to reproduce: Buy a $20 super-old laptop, gripe about an obsolete module/driver even though it's not really a bug because you don't have the right hooks, then upgrade your system and find an actual bug! Maybe... ;) |

IMO this is a "Won't fix" but the decission is up for the
maintainer to choose.
this is provided in kernel26-firmware
