DetailsWhen i tryed to upgrade my system pacman -Syu it wanted to upgrade xorg , but failed with the following error.
conflicts found /usr/lib/libGL.la : exists in filesystem errors occured no packages upgraded. No someone on the irc said this is a nvidia issue but i spoke to someone else who doesnt have a nvidia card and suffered the same. I'm away to try a rm /usr/lib/libGL.la and see if it will upgrade then. maybe i will have to reinstall the nvidia drivers |
This task depends upon
it works so far
pacman -Sf xorg is needed to install new xorg package
mv /usr/lib/libGL.la /usr/lib/libGL.la.old
and then pacman -Su and everything install OK, but there was problem with permision of /tmp/.ICE-unix and I had to do (as root)
rm -rf /tmp/.ICE-unix
mkdir /tmp/.ICE-unix
chmod 1777 /tmp/.ICE-unix
Is this another bug ??
mkdir /tmp/.ICE-unix
chown root:users /tmp/.ICE-unix
chmod 1777 /tmp/.ICE-unix
BTW, with Gnome, I thought I was going to need to do the .ICE-unix stuff. But I rebooted to Windows to get the fix, and when I booted back into Arch, Gnome started fine.
