conflicts found /usr/lib/libGL.la : exists in filesystem

No someone on the irc said this is a nvidia issue but i spoke to someone else who doesnt have a nvidia card and suffered the same.

I'm away to try a rm /usr/lib/libGL.la and see if it will upgrade then. maybe i will have to reinstall the nvidia drivers

I did
mv /usr/lib/libGL.la /usr/lib/libGL.la.old

and then pacman -Su and everything install OK, but there was problem with permision of /tmp/.ICE-unix and I had to do (as root)
rm -rf /tmp/.ICE-unix
mkdir /tmp/.ICE-unix
chmod 1777 /tmp/.ICE-unix

Is this another bug ??

I had the same problem, a quick fix for the time being is to do exactly what you did on every startup. aka..add the following to /etc/rc.local

mkdir /tmp/.ICE-unix
chown root:users /tmp/.ICE-unix
chmod 1777 /tmp/.ICE-unix

Not sure if it was done because of this bug report. And I likely should be starting a new one. But I just upgraded to version 3 of the Xorg 6.8.0 package and it no longer gave that error message, but I think it just overwrote that file. UT2004 was giving me an error for a GL extension. Reinstall of the driver seems to have fixed it.

BTW, with Gnome, I thought I was going to need to do the .ICE-unix stuff. But I rebooted to Windows to get the fix, and when I booted back into Arch, Gnome started fine.
