this is still an issue, has anyone bothered to rebuild kdelibs3? This will kill any xfce4 setup that starts kde services by default.

Yeah, installing official nvidia driver to clean old 180.22 files off and then switching back to pacman nvidia driver worked. I'm not sure why kdelibs didn't give a more detailed output of the error. The issue is actually in the nvidia package.
