While Arch's version of LFTP (or upstream itself) includes the `edit' command from lftp-vi it doesnt' support completion for its argument. The following patch helps according to http://michael.stapelberg.de/lftp_vi.php

Has any discussion happened to inlcude this upstream? I don't like to differ from upstream version.

no. this in only a minor feature you might implelement into your local custom build. Arch will keep shipping the plain vanilla version.
