Have you rebooted after the kernel upgrade?
Comment by Börje Holmberg (linfan) - Thursday, 09 April 2009, 11:58 GMT
yes, i did reboot. always do after a kernel upgrade.

Now, I have in /etc/pacman.conf:

IgnorePkg = kernel26 kernel26-firmware nvidia nvidia-utils

Hope that is all that is needed

perhaps alsa changed parameters in this kernel release, check module options please.

I got the same error with old kernel, too after downgrading, so I upgraded again. Seems timidity++ sometimes fails for unknown reasons and the only thing that helps is one or two reboots until it gets corrected.

So, you can close this bug - it seems there is some other issue involved.

thanx
