the actual xine 1rc5-3 is built with --disable-faad what makes it impossible to read m4a or acc files

i recompiled it with --enable-faad and can now play m4a or acc files

i see no reason to use --disable-faad

it would be usefull to have xine with faad support, so that people using xine backend are not forced to switch to gstreamer, only because of that

thanx in advance for consideration

The reason for --disable-faad is the cross-repo issue we'd have. faad is in extra.
I think we do the same for mplayer which is why I recommend when this comes up that people compile their own when it comes to xine and mplayer it's damn hard to make a generic build that suits all.
