When I was typing in a line on the command line, I decided to bring up the editor by 'ctrl+x+e' and thought it was funny that bash told me that emacs was not found. I located emacs in /etc/inputrc and changed it to vi. Since people have to learn a bit of vi when installing, wouldn't it be better to use vi? |

Try adding EDITOR=vi to your ~/.bashrc
