A simple rebuild doesn't work here. It removes the error message you posted but the help-browser plugin crashes when you try using it. I'll try building gimp from svn to see if the plugin will work then. If so, I might be able to make a patch.

Eric, did you test against the svn version ? what are the results? is fixed on svn version? thanks in advance.

Btw, This error happens in x86_64 too.

it's fixed in git. See: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=577024
The problem is to make the appropriate patch for the stable gimp branch.

the patch is here: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gimp/trunk/plug-ins/help-browser/help-browser.c?r1=27922&r2=28227&view=patch

But after checking several sections, the help-viewer crashes with a seg fault. I'm not sure if we should just apply this patch to close this bug or wait longer ( to have it not seg-faulting).

I got a more complete patch from Fedora. it fixes the crashes completely. i'll pushed a fixed gimp when time permit.
