Not sure why it is rejecting the libs:

There should be a config.log file in the src directory somewhere. Can you please attach that?

You can close this bug.

I rebuilt the libgphoto2 library and reinstalled it with pacman -U
and built gphoto2 with success.

hmmm! I just had this happen with evolution failing because scrollkeeper could not build trying to find libxml2 which was installed. Reinstalled libxml2, ldconfig(ed) and everything seemed fine.

Next time I'll know what to do.
