Pacman v3.2.2 - libalpm v3.1.1 When attempting to create (register) a database as unprivileged user, Pacman is rather cryptic. Maybe it could be possible for pacman to check if the user is privileged or not, and then report with an error message like "Could not register 'extra' database. You are not allowed to do that." insted of "Unexpected system error". Could also be somewhat and somehow related to Steps to Reproduce: $ su # mv /var/lib/pacman/sync/extra /anydir/extra <------- pretend the DB hasn't been registered yet (I might be wrong?) # exit $ pacman -Sy error: could not register 'extra' database (unexpected system error) |

Oooh, sorry, sorry, sorry! I selected a wrong version of Pacman when I reported. It might apply to the version 3.2.1 as well, but I'm actually using the one in the Summary (3.2.2)
