The expect homepage has: Alert: Version 5.44 of Expect has been recalled due to unresolved problems. Please use 5.43.0.

"I'm not working on Expect at present but I might be able to help with certain problems. However, this is the first I've heard of not being able to click any buttons. In any case Expect 5.44 is not an official version (or rather, was withdrawn). Use 5.43." - Don.

I think we should downgrade to 5.43 because of this email.

Also assigning to the latest packager, since there are no responses from maintainer in 7-8 months.

Assigning to people who have packages depending on expect (which needs downgraded too)

Any update on this? How do we coordinate this rebuild?
Comment by Allan McRae (Allan) - Saturday, 06 March 2010, 22:53 GMT
Apart from the two packages involve (expect, expectk) I do not see any rebuilds needed in [extra]. So it appears this is a plain downgrade.

Expect source is on sourceforge now and maintained by ActiveState employees. I bumped the package to 5.44.1.15 and took a patch from Ubuntu which fixes the button problem.
