hi.
i needed to reinstall grub on MBR, and decided to use the latest 2009.02 live cd for that.

and instead of running the live cd, mount partition, bind /proc /dev/ etc ..., i look in the tools menu of grub and houray , find what i needed !
thank you arch developpers.

one minor issue is that at some point the display seems to become corrupted. the colors are lost, vertical dotted lines appears. one can guess the text under that, but that's hard. look at the attached picture

how to reproduce ?
go in tools ... > Reinstall Grub in MBR and run that command (with or without modifying the partition to be used with e command)
once the command is run the display is corrupted.

please note that
grub is reinstalled on the MBR and it works perfectly

Seems that you have an issue when switching back from text-mode to graphic mode with your hardware/firmware, and triggered by grub-gfx.
This is unrelated with archiso, there is nothing to do with it.

Only god knows what is the origin of the grub-0.97-graphics.patch used in grub-gfx. I doubt that can be done here something with it.
