Details

Description: I have upgrade nvidia-180.22-1 for 180.29-3, I used pacman -Syu, and after reboot the X did not started. I had that to make downgrade to come back to the normal one.
I do not have the composite enabled in xorg and nor installed in the system.

You will need nvidia and nvidia-utils with the same versions. A version mismatch will cause it to fail. In case you have a different kernel than the default kernel, you'll need to build an nvidia package that matches your kernel.
