When mounting an encrypted volume truecrypt returns an error if sudo is not installed. This happens because it needs to use the in-kernel device mapper; it is also specified in the wiki:

When running as root, truecrypt doesn't need the sudo dependency. Further, when using truecrypt as normal user, you need to configure sudo anyways.
Maybe it's better to add this as an optdepend then.

I thought about it, but I proposed a normal dependency because I'm not sure about the "sane defaults" thing: truecrypt is not an advanced system analysis tool or something that is almost exclusively used by root, it is largely used by unprivileged users. Anyway, I don't really care, and probably an optdepend is really better, because the user gets notified that s/he needs to configure sudo to make it work, sparing a post_install message.

I think the optdepend makes sense. I'll add one.
