Description:
ACPI doesn't catch volume buttons (volume up, volume down, mute) presses on Lenovo Thinkpad X61s. All other buttons work (brightness, hibernate, etc.).

Additional info:
Volume buttons used to work half a year ago before regular system update.

Steps to reproduce:
Run acpi_listen and press volume buttons -- you will see that there are now events for these buttons unlike other buttons.

Check thinkwiki.org and make sure you don't need additional modules for this - my T60 requires ibm_acpi loaded.

Ok, I'll try it tomorrow and I'll write about results.

As far as I know ibm_acpi is an alias for thinkpad_acpi and ibm_acpi will become deprecated soon.

I have loaded thinkpad_acpi, but volume buttons don't work. The other buttons work. Would you recommend me to ask thinkpad_acpi developers?

I would look around on thinkwiki first. I remember some crazy stuff dealing with ACPI and keypresses and needing certain bitmasks. Check this page for info: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Thinkpad-acpi

So, there are no acpi events for volume buttons just now, but I've managed to catch volume buttons using xmodmap & xbindkeys.

Thank you for your attention.
