DetailsDescription:
catalyst 9.2-1 freezes system with vlc in fullscreen. I have to do a hard reboot to get out of it. This does not happen with catalyst 9.1-1. Vlc works fine with catalyst 9.1-1 and open source drivers so its not vlc bug. Additional info: catalyst 9.2-1 catalyst-utils 9.2-1 kernel26 2.6.28.7-1 vlc 0.9.8a-5 Steps to reproduce: Install all packages above. Run fglrx driver and fglrx kernel module. Start vlc with video file then push F key to get fullscreen. You will notice a freeze of everything including mouse. |

If the non-free nvidia driver is freezing randomly then maybe its related to the new kernel patch. I have my doughs about it buts it maybe a good testing point to start with.
I'm going to do a rebuild to see if the patch you added to the new catalyst 9.2-1 is causing this problem.
So maybe the new ati driver just hates vlc with openbox. lol
I will test that later tommorrow.
