Reason for closing:  None
Additional comments about closing:  Open a new bug with more information. First of all, bluez-gnome is not in the repositories anymore, and not being able to send files is something else than being able to receive files.

Try to install openobex.

I have the same bug with openobex 1.4-1 installed

bluez-gnome 1.8 is not compatible with obex-data-server 0.4.x. The CreateBluetoothSession has an additional parameter introduced in the 0.4.x series (see http://wiki.muiline.com/obex-data-server/migrating_to_0.4). Both bluez-gnome 1.8 and gvfs 1.0.3 needs to be patched for the Gnome bluetooth applet (send file and browse) to work properly.

Gentoo patches were mentioned on this bug report http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/11502. I tried them and bluetooth now works here. Here are the links:
Patch for bluez-gnome: http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=171712
Patch for gvfs: http://bugs.gentoo.org/attachment.cgi?id=174955

nautilus-sendto needs to be bumped to 1.1.1 (currently no maintainer?)

I've applied both patches, but they did not helped me. Have the same error "Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "ss" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist"

Sorry... I forgot to mention that you need obex-data-server 0.4.4.
Comment by Gultyaev Alexey (hokum) - Wednesday, 18 February 2009, 04:53 GMT
I've updated obex-data-server to 0.4.4, but there is nothing again.

Do you mean you're still getting the same error message?

Here is my setup:

From extra:
- bluez 4.30-1
- gnome-bluetooth 0.11.0-3
- libbtctl 0.10.0-2
- openobex 1.4-1

Custom compiled:
- obex-data-server 0.4.4 (newer version)
- bluez-gnome 1.8 (with patch)
- gvfs 1.0.3 (with patch)
- nautilus-sendto 1.1.1 (newer version)

Now it works! I removed obexd, obexftp and installed libbtctl. And now sending and browsing works fine.

The error states that a connection attempt to the device has failed. I can't test here, since the only bluetooth device here is an iphone, which doesn't support sending files.
Comment by fabio (fabioamd) - Tuesday, 16 June 2009, 17:42 GMT
how can I debug information?
