Hello,

In .7 beta ISO, fresh install (to a test machine), pacman -S kde still shows it linked to XFREE and balks even though xfree was not installed (nor included in the base iso). pacman -S xorg fixes this.

Then pacman -S kde now shows no conflicts, but coughs on arts and kdelibs download stating "cannot get file size for ..." followed by a "broken pipe". Also, it is still trying to get kde 3.2.3, not kde 3.3.

pacman exists, leaves the /tmp/pacman.lck file in place, and failes to download/install.

rm -f the packman.lck file. Then changed the /etc/pacman.d/current and extra files to point to various servers, including using the archlinux.org ftp server first.

Same error, same files...

Sincerely,

Dave......

as of 8-25-2004......I reattempted to download the KDE libs, and kde 3.3 was brought in, NOT kde 3.2.3, and there were no more issues with file sizes....

Same command as last night..... didn't work last night... did work today.....

Lets write this one off to transient issues with the 'Net........
