Description:
By default, nano do not show syntax highlighting. It can be enable in /etc/nanorc

But even enable the "Bourne shell scripts" at the end of the config file, PKGBUILDs are not highlighted.

It would be only a matter of changing, in /usr/share/nano/sh.nanorc, this line:
syntax "sh" "\.sh$"
to this one:
syntax "sh" "\.sh$" "PKGBUILD"

Could this be enabled by default?

Nano once had syntax highlighting. But it got disabled. See  FS#8004

Hum ok.
But then if I enable syntax highlighting I want to, well, highlight syntax, including PKGBUILD.  FS#8004  was about changing the highlighting style specifically for PKGBUILD. What I ask here is to simply highlight PKGBUILD the same as any other shell script.

If I enable shell script highlighting in nanorc, I would like to see PKGBUILD, which are shell script, to be highlighted. It is only a matter of matching the filename...

We ship vanilla config files. There're enough examples for highlightning in our wiki and our forum. Closing this one.
