Package: php 5.2.8-1 (but this applies to all older too)

The problem is that out of the box, after installing the php package, the php5_module is disable (which is not the problem by itself)... but there's no even a comment about how to enable it. I guess it's documented somewhere (and you can easily deduct it if you know what you are doing).. but still.

Thus I propose this simple patch (attached) to /etc/httpd/conf/extra/php5_module.conf. It's just adding a commented line about loading the module.

we shouldn't add this information. Users should know what they need to work. My point.

Sometimes they know, other times they are offline or in a hurry, and can't really check or try.

What's the drawback of adding one commented line there?
(BTW with that logic, you can also just remove the whole php5_module.conf file).
