There is a nice little script that updates your clock via NTP. I think it would be a good idea to include it with the package. I've attatched the script to this bug report. This is the official script from the NTP website.

on that note, something like the following should be put in the ntpd rc.d script so that the clock syncs before ntpd daemonizes.

ntpdate `egrep ^server /etc/ntp.conf | awk '{print $2}'`

this will permit time changes of > 1 hour which happen when boxes are rebooted around DST switches. It'll also sync the clock right away instead of the very slow creeping sync that ntpd uses.

the clock-sync attachment also seems to be missing or something.
