Please be patient with me. This is my first bug report, so I'm sorry if this is not in the correct format or if I didn't give the right information.

I installed firefox 3.0.5-1, flashplugin 10.0.d21.1-1, and openjdk6 1.3.1-2 through pacman. I loaded up Firefox, but Flash and Java didn't work. So, I checked about:plugins, but there were no plugins listed. Apparently Firefox searches for plugins in /usr/lib/firefox-3.0/plugins, not /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (which is where pacman installed the plugins). So, I did a "ln -sv /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins /usr/lib/firefox-3.0/plugins", which fixed my problem.

A similar problem was reported on the Arch Linux Forums about a month ago, but the solution differs from mine:

Try logging out and logging back in.

I removed the symlink, logged out, logged it, and then it worked just fine. That's strange, I would have never thought to do that.

Thanks for the tip.

I guess this isn't really a bug then.
