Description:
After upgrading to nvidia 180.22, I started noticing color banding all over my desktop (as if the color gradients don't blend smooth). This happens only when using compiz. OK with metacity.

More info (& screenshot) can be found here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=124258

If I toggle 'Force Full GPU Scaling' in nvidia-settings GUI, the problem resolves temporarily (until reboot).

Additional info:
* package version(s)
xorg-server 1.5.3-4
nvidia 180.22-1

* config and/or log files etc.
See nvidia-bug-report.log & xorg.conf (unmodified version generated with nvidia-xconfig) attached

Upgraded to KDE 4.2. No problem with KWin + Compositing + Effects either. The issue appears to be only with GNOME + Compiz.

180.29 has been released, may be this new version solves that problem with GNOME + Compiz

@Keerthi: We cannot fix nvidia bugs anyway. Nvidia releases beta & bugfix builds of their drivers very often now, so there is pretty good chance that they fix it. Also, it's better to report this directly to Nvidia.
