Description:

Can't mount a nfs share with kernel 2.6.28.1 (kernel26 2.6.28.1-1).

--- Mount with fstab entry:
# mount /media/nfs
mount.nfs: No such device

--- fstab entry
192.168.2.2:/var/www /media/nfs nfs defaults 0 0

--- dmesg output:
nfs: Unknown symbol grab_cache_page_write_begin

manual loading nfs module failed:
# modprobe nfs
FATAL: Error inserting nfs (/lib/modules/2.6.28-ARCH/kernel/fs/nfs/nfs.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

After rebuilding the kernel from abs, the problem is solved.

did you try 2.6.28.2-1 kernel?

I only recompiled the 2.6.28.1-1 kernel. i have my own local mirror for updates ( 3 PCs with archlinux in my network ) but i forgot to sync this mirror. this night, i will upgrade my system and use kernel 2.6.28.2 - more tomorrow.
