Description:

smpeg contains /usr/bin/gtv, which depends on gtk.

I removed gtk (amongst others), while troubleshooting another app.
After this, gtv wouldn't start anymore.

(although i only started it because i found it in the menu and wasn't
sure what it was for ;).
