Description:
notify-send doesn't show any output with notification-daemon 0.4.0-1
with old package notification-daemon-0.3.7-3 it works well.

Additional info:
* notification-daemon 0.4.0-1 (updated 2008-12-26)


Steps to reproduce:
* install newest version and try: $ notify-send test

I'm also having this problem as described in this thread in the forum: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=62009
0.3.7 works but 0.4.0 doesn't.
Running Openbox with minimal libraries installed.

Works fine here. Do you have the dbus session bus running on your system?

hm....restarted dbus session (# /etc/rc.d/dbus restart) and now it works.
I'm sure I did the same thing yesterday. Weird.

/etc/rc.d/dbus is not the dbus session bus. The session bus is the one launched by dbus-launched from whatever you use to start X (gdm starts it by default).

Hey, I get popup alerts as root, but not as a regular user. Does this help anyone at all narrow the issue down?
