Do you guys have anything setup so mirrors get priority when syncing? Or rsync access? (as the FTP server does not allow recursive DIR listings)

Yes, we can give you rsync access right to our main server. What is the IP you will be syncing from, and we will want a contact email address (feel free to email this privately to Dale).
