Details

Description:
Gnome brightness progress bar don't shows. It shows only for the lowest brightness.
Script read brightness value from file named actual_brightness. When i changed the name actual_brightness (ro) with brightness (rw file), gnome now shows brightness progress bar.
It is not expert analyse, but it works great on my acer aspire 5920 and can help to others.
I don't understand where is problem in the script. There is test if file exists and then we read from it. But I must change the name to 'brightness'.

---value="`cat $HAL_PROP_LINUX_SYSFS_PATH/actual_brightness`"
+++value="`cat $HAL_PROP_LINUX_SYSFS_PATH/brightness`"

Upstream hal changed to a generic addon for this instead of a helper script like the current version uses. The path you patched in the script is the same path used in this generic addon, so I think your change is correct for this script.

Theses scripts will be obsoleted in the next version of HAL.
