Anyone with opinions on default LDFLAGS? Empty, or maybe
"-Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions"? Add "--hash-style=gnu,--sort-common"?

Maybe -Wl,--hash-style=gnu -Wl,--enable-new-dtags -Wl,--as-needed
(now default on Gentoo).
