DetailsDescription:
Hello! It's really annoying that you have to install the entire Gnome ui and it's deps just because Glade happens to have a plugin that requires Gnome. I suggest that the package be split so that glade-3 does not contain the Gnome plugins, they can recide in glade-plugins-gnome. Another suggestion might be to simply remove the dependancy for Gnome and add it like an optional dep. Why? Well, most of us like small, clean systems with as little clutter as possible. The old keep it simple. A lot of people use GTK+, just as many are swearing over bloated things like Gnome. "But isn't it more simple to just have one package?" No. It might be EASIER if you're lazy users used who doesn't care about clutter, but it's simpler if complex bindings to a huge desktop environment isn't enforced because of one optional plugin that most GTK+ users won't even touch. It's easy to confuse easy with simple, but adding Gnome to any equation never makes anything more simple. :) Thanks for your time! |

This was already reported as http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/5222 last year and got closed. We might want to make it an optdepend now.
