Description:
When you use the GNOME system tool to change the root password, it also changes root's home directory from /root to /home/root. Additional info: * gnome-system-tools 2.22.1-1 * system-tools-backends 2.6.0-3 * libgnome 2.24.1-1 * gnome-desktop 2.24.2-1 * I am not using sudo. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install GNOME "pacman -S gnome" 2. Install system tools "pacman -S gnome-system-tools" 3. Start GNOME as user. 4. Click System --> Administration --> Users and Groups 5. Click the Unlock button 6. At Authenticate prompt, type in the root password. Click Authenticate. 7. Select the root account, then click Properties. 8. At the Account tab, under "Set password by hand", type in new root password. Click OK. Now, you will see that root's home directory has been changed to /home/root. |
