Additional info: * lighttpd 1.4.20-2 * /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf Today I installed lighttpd and was happy about the well documented lighttpd example config. With the exception of directory listing. The manpage does not say much about lighttpd either. Why do I have to google how to enable directory listing? I request to add something like this in the /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf example: # Enable directory listings globally dir-listing.activate = "enable" |

Additional comments about closing: You might want to report this upstream instead. We cannot wirte documentation for every package. This is clearly the task of the lighttpd devs.

Looks like we just ship the upstream defaults from looking at the
PKGBUILD...

Odd, I seem to remember it being in an older version of the
upstream config... At least, it's enabled with my lighttpd, but I
don't remember adding it. Then again, I set up lighty some time
ago.
