Details

The current implementation chokes if both files are symlinks to a third file (such as the case of a file upgrading from /usr/perl5/5.8.4 to /usr/perl5/5.8.5, and the real file is in /usr/perl5/current).

I should have implemented it this way the first time, but I guess I'm just stupid.

This will apply cleanly to an unmodified 2.8.2, but won't apply properly with the patch to fix the bug in 2.8.2.
