Description:

Now that we have 64 bit Flash, we also need libflashsupport-oss. It compiles and runs fine as long as the -m32 switch is removed from the build line.

Reason for closing:  Implemented
Additional comments about closing:  x86_64 support added to PKGBUILD, and confirmed to work.

Now depends on flashplugin for entering the binary repos.

I installed Arch64 in qemu-system-x86_64 (as I currently don't own any x86_64 capable cpu) for testing this, but I still couldn't get flashplugin to work. It segfaults firefox for any website which contains flash, even without libflashsupport-oss.

So I will need volunteers for testing the package as soon as it is done. I will put it in some webserver so people can test it before I put it in [community]. I will post the link here as soon as it is done.

The package is hosted at http://hal9k.ifsc.usp.br/~matias/arch-stuff/libflashsupport-oss-4.1_rc4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz

Please note that I was not able to test it, because flash still crashes firefox in my qemu-system-x86_64 emulator.

Please test and report your results.

For some reason your build doesn't work. I redid it on my end by changing the 'arch' line, and by removing '-m32' out of the gcc line, and it works as expected.

It's very strange. It was actually what I did too in my build.

I've builded using exactly this PKGBUILD: http://hal9k.ifsc.usp.br/~matias/arch-stuff/libflashsupport-oss.tar.gz

Did I forgot something?

Something strange happened on my end yesterday. Your package is working fine for me today. Go ahead and push it into community. You can contact me at any time to test packages in the future.

Thanks! I only don't know if I can upload it to [community] before flashplugin leaves [testing] to enter [extra]. I will ask the other TUs about this.
Comment by Allan McRae (Allan) - Monday, 08 December 2008, 09:46 GMT
You should wait until flashplugin enters [extra].

Thanks Allan!

Anyway, people can download from my server in the mean time, until this stuff is available in [community]. I will move it to [community] as soon as flashplugin enters [extra].

BTW, I will update since now the PKGBUILD in community/AUR so it's buildable in x86_64.

During the update to 4.1_1050, I added 'x86_64' to the arch array.
Now we only need to wait flashplugin leaving [testing], then we can upload the x86_64 binary to [community].

I'm now closing this task. You can reopen it at any time if you have any issues.
