The ghc-6.8.2-2 package should include the appropriate documentation. At the moment, it only installs the LICENSE.

I'm guessing this is fixed in 6.10 in testing.

Yes, 6.10 has the proper docs.

For 6.8, the set of dependencies it needs to generate docs is rather nasty: alex and haddock. That's why I'd rather
just wait for 6.10 to become stable enough for extra. The compiler itself is rather good already, although it has
a couple regressions, but the more important point is the some dozen important packages in hackage that fail
to build on it.
