I'm having this problem as well. It's preventing me from logging in to our proxy servers at work, which is kind of a big deal since I'm responsible for managing them. :-) Any chance of getting the patch applied to the Arch package? It'll probably be included in the next official release, but there's no telling how long out that will be.

This looks like the actual patch:

Thanks.

That's actually a decently important patch too... missing null terminator could be a big deal.

I need SSH to work correctly in order to do my job, so I couldn't sit and wait for some kind of decision to be made on this. I created a new PKGBUILD file myself that will apply the patch, and can confirm that the patch does work (at least for the 3 specific systems that I previously had trouble with). I'm attaching the updated PKGBUILD file for anyone else interested. In order to use this, you'll first need to download the patch from the link I posted above and save it as "sshconnect2.c.patch-5.1p1".

Also, there was a typo on line 50 of the original package build. The sshd_config comment line should not have an 'i' in front of the comment. I fixed this in my package as well.

openssh 5.1p1-2 also installs manpages in /usr/man
