since grep was updated it is not possible to setup hylafax
here is what i get from faxsetup:
FATAL ERROR: /usr/bin/grep does not exist or is not an executable program!

The file:

/usr/bin/grep

does not exist or this file is not an executable program. The HylaFAX
software expects this program to exist and be in this location. If the
program resides in a different location then you must either reconfigure
and rebuild HylaFAX or override the default pathnames in the distributed
software through one of the HylaFAX configuration files (consult the
HylaFAX documentation).

temporary solution is to symlink grep to /usr/bin
(application/x-gzip)    hylafax-updated.tar.gz (15.6 KiB)

I have a hylafax 4.2.0 package which I will upload when I'm in the office. Bug me if I forget. I don't have this problem with it, and I fixed a few other bugs that seemed to have been created with 4.2.0 (one that resulted in an annoying hang in faxaddmodem, for example).

So I have attached the 4.2.0 package, finally. Questions, comments, flames are fine. I have been using this package rather extensively over the past 1.5 months, and have been generally happy with the performance of hylafax on approximately 5 different arch boxes with a fairly wide range of modems connected in both Class 1 and Class 2 modes.

Also worthy of note: if you've already set up hylafax once, I have noticed that it sometimes barks MORE about missing programs (like /usr/sbin/sendmail) than if you run faxsetup on a clean install.

So if you don't care about losing existing configuration, do:

pacman -R hylafax

Then delete anything remaining in /var/spool/hylafax.

Then reinstall hylafax and run faxsetup afresh.
