Additional info: install initscripts-splash and you will brick your system

Uninstall netcfg, Install initscripts-splash and reboot.

Is not correct.
arch-gensplash does not exist.

Should be arch-fbsplash.

Please remove this package and let someone create it properly.
At the moment, It's broken.

This is a community package, please use the proper Flyspray project.
Also, read the comments closely next time you consider using outdated stuff that's replacing the most important files on your system.

Wow, I'm amazed with the kind of trouble you went through to provide us with errors, debugging information, screenshots, package versions, etc... If everybody reported bugs like you did, our job would be alot easier! We just love riddles.
