Description: Please enable the compile flag
'--with-passfile=".alpine-passfile"' in the ABS alpine
PKGCONFIG. This will allow Alpine to remember passwords if
the user runs "touch .alpine-passfile".

--with-passfile=FILENAME
Password cache file (NOT secure, NOT recommended)
So I'm not confortable enabling that for the package in the official repo. If you want this feature, you'll need to use abs.

Status: not implemented. Alpine 2.00-1 is in extra, Alpine 2.00-2
is in testing.
Maybe just a wake up, but I would like this too.
