Description:
After upgrading to xf86-video-intel 2.5.0-1, I get intermittent screen flicker. Downgrading to 2.4.2-1 fixes this.

It is most noticeable when watching video but that may be due to increased concentration on the screen...

Additional error/warnings on Xorg.log:

(EE) intel(0): I830 Dma Initialization Failed

(WW) intel(0): libpciaccess reported 0 rom size, guessing 64kB

And I get a lot more:
(EE) intel(0): underrun on pipe B!

Can you do me a favor and check if direct rendering works on your machine?

I dont have the flicker problem, but i have exactly the same messages here and direct rendering doesnt work.
Its a weird problem: glxinfo shows that its enabled, but all games etc run with the software renderer.

I have the same problem and I have a blank screen when I play a video.

Where can I find the previous 2.4.2-1 package ?

To be removed when the problem will be solved.

My workaround for this bug:
- set a kernel parameter: vga=788 (I have MSI WIND that can do only 1024x600, and in console 800x600)
- using xf86-video-intel-git (from AUR) [probably on 2.5.0 will work]

but when I use vga=normal bug come back.

Can some one confirm this workaround?

Driver has been reverted to 2.4.2, with some patches from ubuntu included (those are mainly quirk fixes backported from the 2.5 branch). Please test.

Everything seems fine here with the latest 2.4.2 package.
