When installing a batch of packages, it is often that when post-install script display messages, the total length of those messages exceeds the console screen capacity (40 lines or so). It would be nice if those messages were also routed to a pacman log file, so that one can check them afterwards. Sometimes those messages are critical for the correct behaviour of the package. AFAIK these things are logged in /var/log/pacman.log.
